客廳的那面牆，我們只做了一件事：把它分成直的。

等距的深色條帶落下來，牆就有了節奏。天花不必再做什麼，房子看起來就高了。

其餘交給木頭：圓的小几、椅子的扶手、地板。淺色收在下面，深色站在上面。

坪數改不了，比例可以。

We did one thing to the living-room wall: we divided it vertically.

Dark bands fall at even intervals and the wall takes on a beat. The ceiling is left alone, and the room reads taller than it is.

The rest is given to wood — the round side tables, the arms of the chair, the floor. Pale below, dark above.

You cannot change the floor area. You can change the proportion.
