In this house the light comes out of the cabinets.

A wall of black glass runs the length of the room, lit from within. Books, bottles, things kept — once they are placed, they become the wall.

The rest of the living room gives way. Grey sofas, one round timber table, every colour lowered so the light can speak for itself.

Whatever a person collects deserves to be the thing that glows.
